From One to Many: My Journey into Mold Making and Casting

Have you ever created something you loved so much you wished you could clone it? That is exactly how I fell in love with mold making and casting. For me, it wasn’t just about making one beautiful sculpture; it was about the magic of turning a single design into a whole series of art pieces.

I started exploring mold making and casting because I wanted to reproduce my clay originals without losing those tiny, hand-carved details. Working with silicon molds has been a game changer. The first time I poured liquid silicon over a master sculpt, I was terrified I’d ruin it. But peeling back that cured rubber to reveal a perfect negative was incredibly satisfying.

Now, I’m obsessed with casting in resin. It’s such a versatile medium! I can play with tints, embed dried flowers, or even mix in metallic powders to make each copy unique.
