Pentaptych.

I enjoy the concept of fragmented art. There’s something extraordinary in the possibility to move the artwork around, bring it together or separate it. This is the idea behind my new art series that consist of five connected paintings, a pentaptych.

While each painting can be viewed separately, there’s a connecting flow throughout them. So far, this artwork is pretty much an idea. I’ve only managed to throw some canvases on the wall, and sketch a few lines and objects. It might not be obvious, but a lot of my personal art is abstract. In the last few years, I have been doing a lot of studies and learning projects. These included landscapes, portraits, figure, and still life. Now, I’ve gathered enough knowledge to move learning aside and focus on fine art making. I hope some of you will get shocked by my next paintings!

I don’t have a large enough easel to place the canvases side by side, so I’ll paint them right there on the wall. First, I made a few watercolor sketches just to play with shapes and ideas, but the final painting will differ. It starts with a thought, pencil in the air. A few blurry thoughts, several spins, and that’s it. The line is laid. It has begun.
