Abyss of Gesture

A standing female figure pictured from a side. She’s pictured as if making s step from the dark flames or pillars of smoke, hence the name Abyss of Gesture. It’s a charcoal drawing on paper.

Sometimes, there’s certain energy in the drawing that brings up a fantastic feeling to it. This drawing is one of those, I even named it the Abyss of Gesture. It looks like the figure is arising from the mist of charcoal or dark energy. Perhaps the figure itself is the creation of said energy, it’s ominous and mysterious at the same time. This one is definitely a candidate for a finished artwork. That’s when the gestures from life really shine, when a simple form study produces an idea.

This drawing took probably 20 minutes. I used soft charcoal on paper.
