Sometimes, childhood memories are so vivid, that they need to be painted. I was meaning to paint this landscape for a long time now. When I was little, I used to play on that bridge on the left while my grandmother was collecting duckweed for the chickens and ducks. I would stare at dragonflies and snails, at the plants on the bottom of the swamp and tiny fish. Then, I would help to carry one of the buckets home. I have a lot of these memories, and I hope I’ll get to painting them all. The medium used for this painting is also a tribute to my childhood, I used to love gouache when I was little.
