I have this idea of a large format series of geometric animal art, but at first I decided to try it out on a tiny paper with watercolors. Overall, I think it turned out pretty fun, I think I might make a T-shirt for myself with this rhino 😀 This small geometric rhino painting is … Continue reading Rhino Soccer Player, watercolor painting

I love wildflowers, and when I came to Texas and saw fields of bluebonnets, cornflowers, and other beautiful flowers, I fell in love with spring! Now that I have a small garden, I planted a few cornflowers. The beauty of wildflowers is that they keep coming back year after year. I wish people would stop … Continue reading Texan Cornflowers, gouache painting
Sometimes, childhood memories are so vivid, that they need to be painted. I was meaning to paint this landscape for a long time now. When I was little, I used to play on that bridge on the left while my grandmother was collecting duckweed for the chickens and ducks. I would stare at dragonflies and … Continue reading On the Swamp, gouache painting
This adorable whale appeared in our world at the end of 2019. Skywhales are magical creatures that can easily fly between parallel worlds and bring fortune and happiness.
When things begin to get too real, I seem to be slanting over to the geometric side. These abstract pears can be viewed from two vantage points. Is the pear being filled with color, or is the vividness gets sucked out of it? That's for you to decide depending on how you see the glass … Continue reading Geometric Life of Pear, watercolor painting
When I just started painting these watercolor studies, my goal was to get as realistic, but graphical as I can. I think with this pear I nearly reached this goal. I really enjoy how lively this single pear painting turned out, it seems as if one can really see the volume! Available for sale! 8.5 … Continue reading Single Pear, watercolor painting
Raspberries are tiny, but complex little creations. Originally, I planned to paint several more, but I decided to simplify the task at hand and ate some 😀 They were very tasty, and I feel like I'm not going to paint any more of them 🙂 While this small watercolor is just a sketch, I do … Continue reading Three Raspberries, watercolor painting
This year, my paintings are dominated by various pears. In this painting, I decided to make the pear as juicy as possible. I keep painting them because it feels like more can be done or something can be improved. At the same time, I study the form in general. The question is how to make … Continue reading Juicy Pear, watercolor painting
I never took much liking to colored pencils, until one day I felt the urge to sharpen every pencil I had in the house. It’s quite a meditative task and sometimes one just feels like it. That’s when I thought of actually trying to use them again, after all, I do have quite a few … Continue reading Mademoiselle Sketchbook
This piece took me about 30 minutes, and I wish I had done it on a better paper. I used rough newsprint, and it's not the best paper for longer poses. Still, I'm fairly satisfied with the results, especially considering that I didn't get the best vantage point for this pose.
